The strapline says it all: "where teamwork means everything".
Innovation Race Team means more than just cycling. Of course, the Club exists to develop the performances of its young athletes. But there's more than that. By taking a holistic approach, Innovation RT can justifiably be proud after its first season's race results - that it has helped on sports development, physiology, nutrition, exercise and all-round good citizenship.
In 2017, it started as a racing team to guide young racers on the pathway from participation to professional. The ethos is to nurture the development of the rider into a rounded individual, and not at the expense of winning at all costs.
The Club is based in the North West, with riders from Stockport, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle-under-Lyme. It caters for road, time trial and track racing. The first season has been a success. The realisation of cost to serve the needs of the athletes and the sport are reality. This crowdfunding Campaign is to secure the necessary funding to pay the professional fees that will be necessary to bring in other partnership and sponsorship funding, manage key accounts and ensure a coherent communication is in place to fulfil the needs of all stakeholders. We are embarking on this Project to ensure solid foundations in 2017-2018 and thus, the basis of a sustainable, volunteer run sporting infrastructure.
The team is run by Billy Ackers, a British Cycling qualified coach, with several years experience of coaching riders from their tentative first pedal strokes through to competent and competitive riders.
The riders we have identified are of the highest standard, some of which are currently embarking on the British Cycling Regional school of racing program, this is for riders who perform well and show promise at their club and in regional competition and based at the Manchester Velodrome.
We are confident that we provide a platform for partnerships with donors and corporate sponsors that fulfill every aspect of expectations - "where teamwork means everything".
